Setting up Outlook Express
Outlook Express is one of the most common email applications around. We do not provide technical support for the service ourselves but we have developed a guide below to help you in setting up and configuring Outlook Express for use with Bulldog email.

Setting up an email account
Firstly you need to open the Outlook Express application. If you are using Windows XP for instance, click the Start button, then Programs, then Outlook Express.
The below applies if you've already got an Outlook Express email account and wish to add one.
Click here if you're starting for the first time.

Click on Tools and choose Accounts .

Click on the Add button.

Then click on the Mail option. This will start the Internet Connection Set-up wizard to set up your new email account.

Type your full name in the the text box and then click Next .

Type your email address into the text box in the form:
yourbdolnumber@bulldoghome.com (or yourbdolnumber@bulldog-office.com if you are a business customer), this must all be in lower case.
Click Next.

In the incoming mail (POP3/IMAP) field type mail.bulldoghome.com
In the outgoing mail (SMTP). field type mail.bulldoghome.com
Please note that for outgoing mail to work you will need to enter the correct settings. This requires that you place your email address and password in the field located under Tools/Accounts/Mail/Properties/Servers/Settings. Tick the Box 'Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.' It is best to do this once your account has been created.
Then click Next .

In the Account Name field type your My Bulldog username, eg. bdol123456@bulldoghome.com.
In the Password field type your logon or POP3 / IMAP password (if you have one).
If you do not wish to type in your password every time you check your mail, tick the Remember password box.

Click Finish .
You have now completed setting up your email account.

Click Close .
Now you can click Close and test your new account by clicking Send and Receive .

Setting up an email account
Firstly you need to open the Outlook Express application. If you are using Windows XP for instance, click the Start button, then Programs, then Outlook Express.
The below applies if you've already got an Outlook Express email account and wish to add one.
If it is the first time you have run Outlook Express on your computer, you will be guided by an Internet Connection set-up wizard. First you'll be prompted to 'Display name' (see screenshot 3 below).
If you're already set up, then click on Tools and choose Accounts as shown in 1 below.

Click on the Add button. Then click on the Mail option. This will start the Internet Connection Wizard to set up your new email account.

Type your full name in the the text box and then click Next .

username@bulldoghome.com . This must all be in lower case.

Click on Close in the Internet Accounts window.
Now you can click Send & Receive to test your new account once you are connected to the internet.
